Upon graduating from high school she was awarded a full award to at the University of Toronto, where she completed a masters degree in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having spent a year in university was invited to audition during an open call for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. The production she appeared in received acclaim from Canadian reviewers. She was invited to attend Stratford's conservatory. It is a place that allows only four males and eight women can take a 20 weeks crash training in classical theater. Contractor received a guaranteed spot in the next season of productions and was offered the role as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
